Military service shapes lives in lasting ways, instilling discipline, responsibility, courage, and resilience, while also carrying challenges that can be difficult to articulate or resolve once service ends. We do not view these experiences as distant or theoretical. They are real, personal, and deserving of respect. That understanding lies at the heart of our work.
The Veteran Experience: Continuing the Mission
The Veteran Experience was created to serve veterans not as problems to be fixed, but as people to be understood. Founded as a nonprofit organization, it began by offering six-day immersive forums for veterans navigating post-traumatic stress, moral injury, and the transition from military to civilian life. These forums brought together small, intentional groups of 10 to 12 participants, fostering trust through a warm, fireside setting designed to encourage openness, reflection, and honest dialogue.
Guided by a blend of structured and open conversation, the experience combined a thoughtfully developed curriculum—shaped by years of clinical work with veterans at the VA—with participant-led discussions. Topics ranged from practical frameworks around trauma, identity, responsibility, and personal agency to broader narratives like the Hero’s Journey and the Responsibility Matrix. Just as meaningful were the unstructured fireside conversations, where veterans shared their stories, challenges, and coping tools, often forming deep connections and discovering they were not alone.
Listening Leads to Action
As The Veteran Experience grew, one truth became increasingly clear: emotional and psychological support is essential, but practical barriers can undermine even the strongest personal progress.
One challenge surfaced repeatedly—reliable transportation.
A dependable vehicle can be the difference between stability and hardship. It enables employment, access to medical care, family responsibilities, and the ability to engage fully with civilian life. Without it, even motivated and capable veterans can find themselves stuck.
This realization led to the next evolution of The Veteran Experience.
Cars for Vets: Turning Care Into Mobility
The Cars for Vets program was created to address this need directly. Through this initiative, we acquire used vehicles that require mechanical work, restore them thoroughly, service them professionally, and detail them carefully—ensuring each vehicle is safe, reliable, and ready to support a new chapter of life.
These vehicles are then gifted to veterans in need,
at no cost.

Wizard’s Automotive & RV plays a key role in bringing Cars for Vets to life by providing the expertise, facilities, and skilled craftsmanship needed to restore donated vehicles to dependable condition. Whether servicing a customer’s car or rebuilding a vehicle for a veteran, we maintain the highest standards of quality and customer service in every repair. We recognize that when someone entrusts us with their vehicle, they are entrusting their safety, time, and peace of mind, and we earn that trust through consistency, transparency, and care.
A Humble Note on Support
A portion of every sale at Wizard’s Automotive & RV supports the nonprofit work of The Veteran Experience, but programs like Cars for Vets depend on the generosity of others to grow and continue their mission. Support may come through financial contributions or vehicle donations that are restored and given to veterans in need, with every contribution—regardless of size—creating meaningful impact.
There is no expectation or pressure to give, only sincere gratitude for those who feel called to help.
